The mind is instrumentally brilliant but without a meaning-based framework, it can devolve into unethical standards. As such, the mind will detect what is required in a given context, but without the symbolic structure to translate that perception back into something that is integrated and coherent for the self, cognition will remain unanchored. The mind then simply becomes an ever-expanding mass of interpretative capacity that now lacks orientation and is lost in the void. T
