Poem no. 28, 31st October 2025

And one fair day shall come, the wonder...
For I remember
All those verses once written in sighs,
Those that unveiled themselves to stars,
Whispering softly beneath the waves of the azure.
They were my dearest summer days,
Drifting upon a white, gleaming sun, and two golden glasses.
And one day shall come, the idealisation,
For I remember
All the bridges we crossed,
To fall upon the rainmaker, his candid gaze, his ever-smiling grace.
He came from afar, from the land of indian summers,
Where a mirage is but a ripple of rai.
But on that day too shall cometh dissonance...
For I remember
All my unspoken sorrows,
Beating against the counter-hand of the heart’s own clock,
There, by the setting sun, Where the light burns us still.
And on that day shall cometh disillusionment,
For I remember
Burying my wings, believing I could fly higher than Icarus
Yet illusion soothes thy wounds.
As the last day shall be the day of ascension,
For I remember
The first breath, my first flight
Wherein my wounded wings fled from your grip,
And escaping the well of the heart
That once had us spellbound
