And I Will Pray With You

Poem no. 34, 30th avril 2026

And I will pray with you,
asleep beneath a baptism of fireflies,
our eyes drawn toward that soft dark hue
Neither you nor I were thinking,
Our shoes skipped toward the river’s edge,
as though to make certain
our childhood hearts still belonged there
And I will pray with you,
each day, hands raised toward the clouds,
gathering the indelible bonds
that make our vows visible to Heaven
and opening , for the two of us,
an infinite territory.
And I will always pray as you do,
that shadow and light may be purified,
and that our passage on Earth
may become a first language,
a first life,
and, who knows,
a people nourished by our light.
Amen.
